How Civio Assist works

When you ask a question, Civio Assist uses a technology called Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). This means it doesn’t just guess the answer; it first finds relevant, approved information from the organisation’s knowledge base and then uses that information to construct a helpful response. This approach ensures that the answers are based on official sources.

Your privacy is our priority

Conversations with Civio Assist are anonymous. We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or other personal identifying information. All data processed by Civio Assist stays in Australia, stored in secure data centres, ensuring your information is protected under Australian privacy laws.

If you accidentally share personal information, our system automatically detects and removes it before storing the conversation. This includes names, contact details, Medicare numbers, and financial information. Chat conversations are stored for a limited time to help improve the service, and the specific retention period is set by the organisation operating Civio Assist.

Civio Assist is designed to provide general information and guidance. While it aims to be accurate, AI technology can sometimes make mistakes. For important matters, or if you need formal advice for legal, financial, or official government decisions, you must verify the information through official channels or by speaking with a qualified professional.

Civio Assist is designed to comply with Australian privacy and data protection laws, including the Privacy Act 1988. The system undergoes regular testing to ensure it operates fairly and does not discriminate based on age, gender, race, disability, or other protected characteristics.

We warmly welcome your feedback about Civio Assist, as it helps improve the service for everyone. However, to protect your privacy, feedback needs to be submitted through the chatbot itself or directly to the organisation operating it. Feedback submitted through the chatbot is reviewed and used to improve response quality.
